Wood
The finest wood countertops are made of premium, select hardwoods. Each top is hand-detailed and oil-finished with care by skilled craftsmen. Contrary to popular opinion, wood countertops and butcher block are hygienic.

We offer three types of wood countertops: premium wide plank, end grain and narrow plank edge grain. and timeless looks.

Stainless Steel
A recent New York Magazine feature on Stainless Steel describes it as a "visual antidepressant" and shows such applications as chairs and coffee tables along with the more typical gourmet kitchens. Stainless Steel is essentially a low carbon steel which contains chromium at 10% or more by weight. It is this addition od chromium that gives the steel its unique stainless, corrosion resisting properties. The chromium content of the steel allows the formation of a rough, adherent, invissible, chromium oxide film on the steel surface. If damaged mechanically or chemically, this film is self-healing.

Copper is a charming surface which has a distinctly "country" apperance. Copper countertops and sinks acquire a living finish or patina that changes with time. A recent British study found that copper and brass were bactericidal when used as food prep surfaces (bacteria does not survive).
